TOLEDO, Ohio (WNWO) — A man from Walbridge is recovering after being attacked at a Cleveland Browns game.
28-year-old Josh Hillabrand was attacked while leaving First Energy Stadium on Sunday. He saw a Kansas City Chiefs fan throwing traffic cones at the crowd, and tried to get him to stop.
That’s when he was punched, fell to the ground and hit his head on the concrete.
He was taken to the hospital and was in critical condition. He was in and out of consciousness for the days following with brain bleeding and swelling.
His brother Greg Hillabrand, sat down exclusively with NBC 24 on Thursday, to describe the attack.
“The guys friend or a bystander sucker-punched him, he didn’t even see it coming, and hit him and that’s when he fell and smacked the back of his head on the curb or sidewalk,” said Greg.
Greg said his brother is doing better and was released Thursday afternoon.
Cleveland Police and the Cleveland Browns and working to find the suspect.
